Crone's Custom Woodworking | A little About Us
Located in Southwest Missouri, Crone's Custom Woodworking has been in business since 1985. Founder Tom Crone started the business building consoles and custom wood accessories for limousines for local builders and builders throughout the U.S. Over the past 20 years Tom has built over 2000 consoles, one at a time, and mostly one of a kind.
Over the past five years the business has developed into a Father and son team creating custom picture frames specializing in round picture frames & oval picture frames. Every frame is custom made to the consumers’ design needs. Our higher end frames are made of solid woods. All frames are made by hand with simple power & hand tools; no computerized equipment.
Currently in stock are hardwoods such as walnut, cherry, oak, cypress, poplar and softwoods such as pine. Our custom picture frames ranging is sizes from 2” diameter to 80” or even bigger. We always love a new challenge building super round picture frames, oval picture frames or any shape you can think of. We started with a
very simple profile design; one customer
after another gave us ideas for more designs. We have learned from many artist customers of ours what their needs were. Various
artists asked for the Gallery Profile, Canvas stretchers, and our new Easel. Consumers also asked for a more economical frame,
so we introduced a new style of custom picture frame using natural fiber or pine.
Thomas Crone (father) has been a woodworker most of his adult life. Mike Crone (son) has helped Tom off and on in the wood shop since he was 15. Mike is very skilled in the wood shop, with various plastics such as acrylic, & with e - commerce; designing & maintaining the website. Together they take care of the smallest requests and also the 1000+ quantity orders. Our Niche is a small industry in the U.S. and we feel that our innovations with several types of round picture frames, oval picture frames and several special order picture frames sets us apart from the few others in this business. We hand build every picture frame like we were going to personally display one of our own family pictures in our own home.
